Shirley Mack, 80, of Sun City, AZ passed away June 28, 2012. She was born March 19, 1932 in Allegan, MI to Earle and Vine Pierce.
She was loved by all and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herbert Earnest Mack, in 2010.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Fry and Vicki Swanson; sister Glenna Allyn; brother, Gary (Gwyen) Henning; grandchildren, Adam (Carol) Fry, Toni Cline, Stephanie (Matt) Lowe and Kevin Cline. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Brook Fry and Zander Cline. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Cardenas, “Cee Cee” Cecelia
Cecelia “Cee Cee” Cardenas passed away June 23, 2012 in Litchfield Park, AZ. She was born February 11, 1943 in McNary, AZ. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter Teresa “Michelle” Lochhead, sons Robert “Bob” Graves, Kenneth “Terry” Graves, and David Graves; her siblings Regina DeLaFuente, Amelia “Molly” Rubalcava, Corina Wilson, and Amby Salais, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A memorial service is being held July 7, Saturday at Thompson Funeral Chapel at 3:00pm, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ. Roger LeDuc Sr., 78, of Tonopah, AZ died June 23, 2012 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born September 26, 1933 in Waterbury, Connecticut to John and Beatrice LeDuc. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Arizona in 2009 and was a truck driver and the owner of LeDuc Transportation. He made friends easily and was loved and he will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Sali LeDuc in 2009.
He is survived by two daughters, Christine LaBonte and Cindy Jenkins; 4 sons, James “Roddy” LeDuc, Ricky, Randy and Roger Jr.; his sister, Jackie and his brothers Jay and Moe. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Mr. LeDuc will be interred at the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery in Farmington, Connecticut.
Socorro Dousten, age 95, died at the Hospice of the Valley’s Palm Valley Paliative Care Unit on Friday, June 29, 2012 of natural causes with her family be her side.
She was born December 15, 1916 in Sonora, Mexico to the late Frank Saavedra and Ignacia Rios.
She is survived by her loving children Marty, Elly, Elvira, Frank and Victor and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are welcome to the visitation for Socorro will take place Monday evening July 9, from 5:00-9:00pm at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ. A funeral mass for Socorro will be held at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale, AZ. Socorro will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Thomas Aquinas scholarship fund.

Szabala, “Ted” Tadeusz
Tadeusz “Ted” Szabala , 64, of Avondale, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away on July 6, 2012 at the Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ. He was born October 28, 1947 in Heidelberg, Germany to Boleslaw and Urszula Szabala.
He was in the United States Air Force, serving two terms in the Vietnam War. He grew up in Buffalo, New York, moving to AZ 15 years ago.
He was a manager for Circle K, then served the last 4 years as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service in Goodyear and Avondale, Arizona.
He is preceded by his parents Boleslaw and Urszula Szabala. He is survived by sisters Sabina and Sonja (husband Christopher); brother Rick (wife Millie); Nieces and nephews Nicole, Matthew, Andrew, Kiah, Jake, Nicholaus, Erik, Elliott, and Shaelyn; Great-Grandnephew and niece Micah & Liliana.
A memorial service will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday July 10 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ.
Stone, LaVerne “Tiny”
88, of Glendale, AZ passed away to be with our Lord on June 26, 2012. Born February 18, 1924 in Pottsbor, TX and raised in Glendale, AZ. Tiny was preceded in death by her beloved husband Guy L. Stone.
Tiny was a very loving mother to her daughters Kathy Preston & Guyla Saulnier, a very special Mamaw to her four grandchildren, Jeremy, Amber, Kory & Kieffer; and her 4 great-children, Anais, Haze, Mason & Ryker will miss their “Great”. Tiny is survived by her three sisters, Grace Millar, Lela Tippett, Viola Dille and one brother Acie Ruddell.
We’re going to miss your smile mom, but you will always live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, you’re with our Lord now.
Van Der Hart, Henry
Henry Van Der Hart, born July 17, 1931 in rural Pella, Iowa, was called to be with his Lord on July 2, 2012. He was a farmer and an avid gardener, and after spending his life in Iowa, Nebraska, New Mexico and Arizona, tended his final spring garden in Mobile, Alabama. He served as a medic on the front lines during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Van Der Hart; sisters, Stella and Nelly; brothers, Thomas, John, and Jacob; and granddaughter Deborah Van Der Hart. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann Van Der Hart; sons Tim (Michelle), Mark (Dorcas), and Phillip (Lisa); daughter Rhoda and husband Tom Herder; grandchildren Esther, Matthew, Joseph, Bethany, Priscilla, Mary, Joshua, Gabriel, David, Levi, Michael, Julia, Josiah, Alexandria, Alicia, and Jeffrey; and great grandchildren Sophia, Cade, Ezra, Titus, Cyrus, Olivia, Nathan, and Savanna. Timothy Joseph Dougherty passed away June 22, 2012 in Casa Grande, AZ. He was born December 1, 1972 in Grand Rapids, MI to Terrance and Kathleen Dougherty. He is survived by one brother, Ryan Dougherty; one daughter Jessa; Three sons Timothy Michael, Ethan and Connor, his fiance Malaki Lange and her four daughters; his former wife Nicole Blankenship; and many people who loved him very much includding aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael, and 3 children who welcome him home on the other side. A memorial service with military honors was held Sunday, July 8th at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, AZ.
Helena Nizynski, 66, of Buckeye passed away on July 3, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ at the Banner Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born in Poland to Kathryn and Ignacy Banashak on March 26, 1946. She was a homemaker and moved to Arizona in 1986 . She was a member of St Henry’s Catholic Church in Buckeye. Survivors include her husband Kazimierz Nizynski, Sr, a daughter, Margaret Cota, a son Leon Nizynski. and 3 grandchildren. Services were held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Henry Catholic Church in Buckeye.
Diana Parent, 62, of Avondale, AZ died July 27, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley Palm Valley in Goodyear, AZ. She was born July 19, 1950 in Fargo, ND. She moved to Arizona January 19, 2001. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband George Parent, her son John Montalbano, her granddaughter Faith Montalbano and her grandson Derek Montalbano.
